Together Chicago is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-denominational Christian non-profit focused on congregational renewal and community rediscovery that results in ministry realignment and increased relevancy for transformative impact in our local neighborhoods. Guided by successful pastor-coaches and Christian entrepreneurs, Together Chicago’s teams have partnered with a dozen congregations in predominantly African American neighborhoods that are leaders in biblical ministry, discipleship, and community renewal. As a unified network, we have invested 36 months in data research, personal interviews, community strategy sessions, and prayer meetings. What emerged from the felt needs of these congregations are five practical initiatives that they have piloted in their own communities: unity and racial reconciliation, violence reduction, legal advocacy and services, educational initiatives and economic development. Together across these five initiatives, these congregations are seeing tremendous impact. We will replicate and scale up this process of congregational renewal, community rediscovery, and ministry realignment with 200 congregations in our growing network over the next five years.
