Project Name: Blessed Tomorrow Thriving Congregations Program
Description:

Throughout the Bible, we are told that the earth is the Lord’s and therefore holy, and that we are called to care for it and to learn from more-than-human creation (Genesis 2.15, Ps. 24.1, Job 12.7-10). The Blessed Tomorrow Thriving Congregations program supports churches in deepening their understanding of oikos in mind and practice as part of strengthening congregational resilience, connection, and purpose in a changing climate. The program provides congregational and clergy resources, trainings, events, community-building, and support to strengthen churches, positively impacting local communities. The BTTC program is working to 1) Create new theologically based resources for education and worship; 2) Expand the BT creation care training program in order to empower pastors and lay leaders to engage others, convene faith leaders for connection and collaboration, and provide opportunities for relationships of support; 3) Translate current BT programs and resources to Spanish, and to add new Spanish resources and programs in order to support the rapidly-growing number of Spanish-speaking congregations in the U.S.; 4) Create programs and resources for churches to provide support for youth leadership; and 5) expand and deepen our impact in churches and their local communities through a campaign called One Home One Future. The Blessed Tomorrow Thriving Congregations Program is working to foster vibrant faith communities with a rejuvenated faith through a deeper connection to creation. We are nurturing churches so they may deepen and practice their faith through creation care, resulting in energy and purpose; supporting pastors and lay leaders to be confident in their roles and deeply rooted in the Christian faith; and building connections between churches, their denominations and traditions, and the local communities they serve. There has never been a more important time for the church to be the church and live out the transforming love of Christ Jesus. Congregations who actively live out their Christian faith have a ripple effect on the world with the greatest impact in local communities.
