The Indiana-Kentucky Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and its ecumenical partners -- the United Church of Christ, the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., and The Episcopal Church -- are leading a project to strengthen their Connect Transformational Ministry (Connect) process of congregational renewal. This project supports ELCA, UCC, PCUSA, and TEC congregations throughout Indiana and Kentucky with average worship attendance from 10 to 500, with most of the congregations hosting 75 or fewer people per week. In this two-year transformational ministry process, cohorts of congregational teams, accompanied by mentors, are taught practices and principles of transformational ministry to help them identify and focus on their ministry within their communities. When applied to congregational life, these practices and principles cultivate an awareness of and engagement with their context, new energy, purpose, and innovation. Participants join with the Holy Spirit in creative opportunities to grow relationships with God, one another, and the world.
