The Thriving in Mission program, led by KC Underground, embodies a vision to empower ordinary individuals within microchurches to become Spirit-led, missionary-minded, and biblically-grounded disciple-makers. With a mission to saturate Kansas City with the beauty, justice, and Good News of Jesus, this initiative is not just about building churches but fostering a movement that impacts lives and communities. Since its inception, the program has grown from three microchurches to 95, touching the lives of over 5,000 individuals daily. Beyond Kansas City, the program's influence extends to 31 other cities, with a goal to catalyze similar movements in 50 cities globally. At its core, Thriving in Mission focuses on equipping microchurches through seven strategic steps, from calling discovery to networking, emphasizing peer-learning relationships and holistic spiritual formation. Through ongoing coaching, spiritual practices, and attentive listening to communities, participants are empowered to express beauty and justice in diverse contexts, fostering meaningful connections and impact. This program isn't just about numerical growth; it's about deepening spiritual roots, fostering community engagement, and embodying the love and compassion of Jesus in tangible ways. By grounding microchurch congregations in core theological convictions and cultivating robust spiritual practices, KC Underground is fostering a movement to see a missionary on every street and a microchurch in every network of relationships.
