The Formational Church Network resources congregations of all kinds that want to be intentional about prioritizing a transforming relationship with Jesus. The network has four main goals: 1) to connect churches focused on spiritual formation with each other through online and in-person events, 2) to help individuals looking for a formation-focused church to find one via a searchable online directory and map, 3) to provide churches with printed resources and guided learning experiences for spiritual renewal in Jesus, 4) to offer an optional immersive program: the Churches in Renewal Cohort experience. Churches in Renewal Cohorts will bring together local church teams (pastors and laypeople) for a year of study, prayer, and conversation. Based on the proven curriculum of the Renovaré Institute for Spiritual Formation, the Cohort journey will offer participants a clear vision and practical strategies for spiritual renewal that they can share with their congregations. It will also promote inter-church learning and collaboration for the common good of the wider community. Participants and their congregations will grow in their capacity to respond well to shifts in the Church and culture as they increasingly become more like Jesus from the inside out. Key program components include: 1) Peer learning in a structured curriculum that forms Christlike character and Spirit-empowered ability to face challenges with wisdom and courage 2) Spiritual practices that cultivate a healthy inner life and the capacity to listen to others and to God 3) Content, like online courses, print resources, and study guides that are ready to be shared with congregations 4) Events, including an annual Pastors Retreat and RēGathering spiritual formation event, 5) Ongoing support from facilitators who introduce congregational resources as well as spark discussion and reflection to help congregations gain clarity on their mission and values 6) Implementation planning to help church leaders roll out transformational ideas and practices in their community context.
