Underground Ministries' mission: To open new relationships of embrace and trust between the incarcerated and the communities to which they return, for our mutual transformation and resurrection. Our program called One Parish One Prisoner, which takes place primarily in the states of WA and IL, matches incarcerated applicants with a team from a faith community in the area of their release. Relationship building and equipping begins approximately one year before release and continues for another year after. Teams explore reentry, Mass Incarceration, conviction, trauma, societal road blocks, and healing—together.
