World Mission University
World Mission University (WMU) has discovered that active small group gatherings are a common characteristic among thriving church communities. Moreover, it has come to understand that the success of these small groups greatly depends on the capacity of their leaders. In response, WMU is undertaking the "Small Group Leader Training" (SGLT) project, which aims to provide a program and platform to develop and enhance the capabilities of small group leaders, thus enabling Korean-centric immigrant churches in the U.S. to thrive. The SGLT project involves first conducting listening-sessions with groups of small group leaders affiliated with Korean immigrant churches and then designing customized learning programs tailored to their needs. This program not only supports the learning of individual small group leaders but also facilitates communal learning by providing materials that can be utilized within church communities. Furthermore, the SGLT project aims to evolve into a platform for all small group leaders associated with Korean-centric immigrant churches in the United States. To achieve this aim, WMU organizes conferences where small group leaders from various church communities can share their experiences, discuss challenges and concerns, and gain practical knowledge and information. WMU supports an online learning community to sustain such learning continuously, and shares achievements through the learning of small group leaders participating in this project.
